How to Completely Remove Scaffold from Your System

Rarely, Scaffold needs to be completely removed from a computer (more than just uninstalling the program). The following document highlights the procedure. Note that this procedure should be similar for other Scaffold software. Simply follow the same file paths and locate folders with the program names (LFQ or Elements, for example). The ProgramData and AppData folders are hidden by default. This article goes over the process for making hidden folders visible.

Windows

  1. Uninstall the program using the `uninstall.exe` program found in your Scaffold 4 installation directory. If any Scaffold 4 files are left in your Program Files directory then delete those too.
  2. Navigate to and delete the C:\ProgramData\Proteome Software\Scaffold\ folder.
  3. Check for files in this directory C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Proteome Software\Scaffold, delete this entire folder.
  4. Check for files in this directory C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Proteome Software\Scaffold, delete this entire folder.
  5. Finally, check for this folder as well: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\scaffold_temp_storage, delete these too.
