Scaffold can connect directly to a Mascot server on an accessible computer via its URL:
http://mascot.yourdomain.com/mascot
You can configure this setting in Scaffold by going to Edit > Preferences > Mascot Server
If you are running the Mascot server on the same computer as Scaffold and you are getting the message that Scaffold can't connect, try to use localhost or 127.0.0.1 in place of the hostname you previously tried.
Other things to keep an eye out for are:
1. If the Mascot server redirects or forwards from HTTP to HTTPS or vice versa, try both schemes when configuring the address
2. If you have a local firewall blocking certain application or web protocols, check these if Scaffold can't connect
3. If you are using a proxy in Scaffold, confirm the configuration with your IT department
